So from the outside this place looks a bit tired and seems quite heavily used on the inside. There is also the familiar smell of stale beer but to be expected with a busy pub. The service was friendly but I have to say the food was a bit of a big surprise. Very well done and presented and tasted good. They also had kid friendly and veggie options but the chicken Nd rib combo was great. If I am in the area again I will revisit for that home made burger.
Stayed for 2 nights ,we were in the hotel Brandon house across the road, which was a surprise, but it was a lovely old historic building ,rooms were clean and beds comfortable, great showers ,the staff were amazing and friendly, (Dani) was brilliant made us welcome and had a great time ,pub was great food was good ,new chef ,would recommend the ram inn for a great retreat,I will be back in the summer.
Very friendly staff always make you feel welcomed I take my two dogs in and all the customers say hello to the dogs and myself I've eaten in the ram on a few occasions and the food is definitely made from the heart by the chef who if it's quiet will come out and chat with the customers. As for recommending anything of the menu I highly recommend the steak pie the pieces of meat in it are so soft they melt in the mouth
Had the best Sunday dinner here today! Spot on, thank you
Visited the area owing to a reasonably spontaneous requirement to be in Suffolk and to be brutally honest, we chose the Ram Inn purely on price.....and wow, what a great find it was. The building is a fine mix of pub and accommodation upstairs, ...with a vignette of a caravan park behind. As a consequence of through traffic and regular 'puntership', the menu is good value and the food plentiful and well cooked by friendly staff. Beer and wine were both very reasonable in price and had it not been for the threat of a second day of 7 hours on the road I am sure we'd have stayed longer in the bar. Accommodation is more than adequate and both clean and well provided for.... The toiletries are a nice touch, as was the towels and tea facilities.... More expensive alternatives could most certainly learn from the Ram Inn. Well done. A nice friendly hotel. Well worth the price. Summary. It's not the Ritz. But as value for money goes. You'd struggle to beat it.
Had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Ram! Their service was lovely and the Steak & Abbot Ale pie was delicious.
